First you have to set up and account. Anyone can browse myAirport.com but you have to set up a free account to participate. Click "Join" at top right corner of site and fill out simple form to start your account.
Next go to the "Classified" tab at the top of the page, click on "3 Simple Steps" icon on top/right. Once you determine the best category for your listing, simply follow process to create your listing.
1. Category in the myAirport.com classified section. (if you cannot find a category that fits your item then please post a request to this forum to ad the category)
2. Get some pictures, even a so-so photo is better than nothing but a great photo or photos are great! The image size should not exceed 1.5 meg. and usually something in the 200k range is plenty good. Edit your photos and re-size them and put them in a temp folder on your desktop so they are easy to get to as you build the listing.
3. Next is your copy. I find it best to write up my description in word or pages then cut and paste it in the ad as I am building it. Not necessary because you can simply type the info as you build the ad, I just find I make less mistakes. Save this text file of word doc in the same folder on your desk top.
4. Next lets talk about links, videos and other media link logos. All these add to the impression you present to your buyer. I either write all the url links down or cut and paste them into my ad document that I created for the ad. Again, this just helps me create the ad quicker and usually keeps me from having to go back and add something I forgot.
Preview your ad to see what it will look like. If you missed something or don't like something make sure you use the "previous" button on the bottom of the page rather than the "back" button on your browser. Using the back button will erase the info you already entered and you must re-enter it.
That's it! Most ads are set to stay up for 120 days from creation. You will receive an email at the end of your listing telling you that the ad has been archived. Follow the link in the email or come back to myAirport.com and log in to edit and un-archive you ad for another run. Its free and easy.
Tip: If you take the time to create a really cool ad and want to put a link directly back to your ad in another website or email that is totally cool with us. Just open your ad in myAirport.com and copy the address in the top of your browser. You can then paste that url right into another website or email.
Good luck!
Post a "reply" to this Post if you have questions or input about creating a classified ad.
Send me info about the event and will try and enter it for you.
If you hit the "back" button in your browser while creating an event or classified listing the fields will clear. Make sure you use the "previous" button at the bottom of your listing after you preview your listing.
